First Applied, First Registered Post-secondary Institutions It is very important to put in an early application especially to post-secondary institutions that work on a first applied, first registered basis such as Langara or Kwantlen! Early applications will give you more choice.
GPA or Research Universities Most GPA universities in Canada have a deadline of February 28th. UBC has a deadline of January 15. Emily Carr University has a deadline of January 15. Ontario universities have an early admission deadline in mid-January.

Nov 1 BCIT Technology Programs and Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Kwantlen will be holding an application workshop at SDSS. Most other universities in Canada and the USA are now accepting applications.
HOW In BC go to EducationPlannerBC In Alberta go to ApplyAlberta. In Ontario apply to the universities for early admission by mid-January . This is not a deadline but a cut-off for early admission. Anywhere else in Canada go the university or college website and click on “APPLY”.
You Will Need PEN # or Ministry # Note: This number is not your 5-digit SDSS number. Credit Card - Every post-sec application costs money. Advice is free in the Career Centre.
Find Your PEN# or MINISTRY # All applications must include your Provincial Education/Examination Number (PEN#). The PEN # is a 9-digit identity number from the Provincial Ministry of Education. It is on your GO card, student connect , and parent connect. To access your provincial exam grades you will also need to use your PEN#.
ONCE YOU HAVE APPLIED, NOW WHAT... 1. Set a goal to apply to everywhere that “works” for you by January 1st - your "New Years Resolution". 2. Login to your personal site at the post-secondary using the student number sent to you from that post-secondary. On this site you will self-report your grades, apply for scholarships, summit extra applications, pay tuition, choose classes and correspond with future profs.
